Operations and Maintenance Engineer - Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent enables critical everyday technology, and we are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support high-speed network infrastructure on Highways England Contracts, including maintenance and commissioning of telecommunications equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to cable repairs on copper and fibre optic cables to maintain network integrity.
• Complete equipment commissioning accurately, on time, and within budget.
• Respond to equipment issues in transmission buildings and roadside cabinets, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance, testing, and commissioning of fibre and copper equipment.
• Accurately complete all required documentation for each task.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments, is essential.

• Experience with motorway communications or similar systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Availability for overtime or callouts as needed.
• Full UK driving license.
