Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering services within statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency settings.
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel is essential.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cornwall-based Caseworker to join the Multi-Crime team in Devon & Cornwall, working 37.5 hours a week.

Office location: This is a home-based role in Cornwall, with a requirement to work approximately once a week from an office at a local partner agency in Cornwall or our local office: Suite 1, First Floor, Argosy House, Longbridge Road, Plymouth PL6 8LD.

Full time/Part time: Full time

Hours per week: 37.5

Work schedule: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work 10:15am to 6:15pm one day per week on a rota basis.

Salary: £26,010 per annum plus £350 per annum Home Working Allowance.

Contract type: Permanent

Other requirements: DBS required, Police vetting not required.

About the role:

This role is home-based and open to applicants living in Cornwall who have access to a confidential workspace. Regular travel to our office in Plymouth & throughout Cornwall, with occasional travel to Devon, will be required. Usual hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with one day per week working 10:15am to 6:15pm on a rota basis. There may be occasional outside core hours work.

As a Caseworker, you will:

  • Develop, deliver, and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, including providing resources, interventions, and information
  • Work alongside and oversee the casework management of volunteer supporters
  • Liaise with local providers to share information and options for victims and survivors
  • Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring outcomes
  • Work as part of a team to provide seamless service to clients

You will need:

  • Understanding of the impact of crime on victims (domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, anti-social behavior)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in delivering services within statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency settings
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a caseload, including complex cases
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience building effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Personal resilience for handling emotional or sensitive demands
  • Proficiency in using IT applications
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel is essential
