Operations and Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to join our team working on Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area, including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

This role involves working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve problems in the field. Responsibilities include delivering or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works to ensure the connectivity and protection of the nation's critical infrastructure 24/7.

Responsibilities:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairing copper and fibre cables.
• Completing equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets.
• Performing maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing documentation accurately and promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments. Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing, and experience working on motorway communications or related systems. Full UK driving license and strong health and safety awareness are required.
