Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and enthusiastic Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our exciting new Universities of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Mental Health Student Service (UCARMHSS) pilot, launching in 2025.

This service offers multiple pathways: psychiatry, psychology, and care coordination, providing tailored interventions to students. Its goal is to improve access to mental health support, inform students about available resources, and guide them in managing their mental health.

Key Features
  • Focus on student needs rather than diagnosis, with thorough triage and formulation assessments.
  • Proactive support for academic and social success.
  • Flexible access options: face-to-face, telephone, video, and online services.
  • Comprehensive care coordination, including assessment, case management, self-management support, and liaison with university services.
Main Duties
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments to students at UCARMHSS.
  • Formulate and implement psychological treatment plans based on diverse models.
  • Deliver individual and group psychological interventions, refining formulations as needed.
  • Manage caseloads autonomously within professional guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise on risk management.
  • Offer psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals.
  • Communicate effectively regarding assessment and treatment plans, monitoring progress.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Handle cases involving serious mental illness and trauma.
  • Work flexibly as required.
