As an Agile Clinical Advisor (Validator), you will be a vital part of our team supporting our Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs). The role intercepts lower acuity and appropriate 999 calls to provide advice and arrange for appropriate care pathways. Our aim is to reduce ambulance demand and Emergency Department admissions safely. You will be an integral part of our team in developing a multi-disciplinary approach to 999 services.

We will offer a variety of contract types including full or part-time positions and remote working.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Clinical accountability for patients calling 999.
  2. Work as an autonomous practitioner to provide high quality complex clinical triage.
  3. Provide appropriate emergency response or referral to an alternative care pathway safely using knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and professional judgement supported by clinical assessment software.
  4. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to reduce ambulance demand and A&E admissions.
  5. Maintain high standards of clinical triage.
  6. Collaborate with external agencies to achieve successful outcomes.
Essential Criteria
  1. 2 years post-registration experience in a clinical environment.
  2. Experience in A&E, Medical, or Primary Care settings.
  3. Demonstrable experience in telephone triage.
  4. Previous experience in making autonomous clinical decisions.
  5. Able to deal effectively with highly distressed callers.
  6. High level of IT and telephony proficiency.
  7. Ability to utilise critical analysis skills demonstrating knowledge of differential diagnosis during assessment.
  8. Demonstrable commitment to continual professional development.
  9. Recognise the importance of audit, evaluation, and Clinical Governance.

You'll have the opportunity to work in one of the most diverse regions in the country, with the vibrant capital city just a stone's throw away and the invigorating North Sea coast to the east.

At EEAST, we bring together all our skills to provide 24-hour, 365-days-a-year urgent care to those in need of emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire.

We are always looking to innovate our approaches and work together to offer the best possible patient care across our counties.

We aim to represent and value the diversity of our local communities through our workforce and service provision. We therefore positively encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as Black, Asian, or other ethnic groups, individuals with a Disability, or LGBTQ+ individuals who meet the specific criteria.

We at EEAST want to support our employees in achieving a balance between work and other priorities, such as caring responsibilities, family commitments, further learning, and other interests. We therefore welcome flexible working requests.
