Remote Clinical Advisor (Validator) - Agile Working

Job Overview

We are seeking ambitious, proactive, and forward-thinking Paramedics and Nurses (Adult & Paediatric) to join our Clinical Assessment Service (CAS). In today’s dynamic healthcare landscape, flexibility is key. We are excited to offer agile working options, allowing you to balance your personal and professional life effectively.

As an Agile Clinical Advisor (Validator), you will support our Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) by intercepting lower acuity 999 calls to provide advice and arrange appropriate care pathways. Our goal is to safely reduce ambulance demand and Emergency Department admissions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team developing innovative 999 services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take clinical accountability for patients calling 999.
  • Work autonomously to provide high-quality, complex clinical triage.
  • Provide emergency response or refer to alternative care pathways using clinical assessment software, knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and professional judgment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to reduce ambulance demand and A&E admissions.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical triage.
  • Work with external agencies to achieve successful outcomes.
Essential Criteria
  • At least 2 years post-registration experience in a clinical environment.
  • Experience in A&E, Medical, or Primary Care settings.
  • Proven experience in telephone triage.
  • Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions.
  • Effective handling of highly distressed callers.
  • High IT and telephony proficiency.
  • Critical analysis skills with knowledge of differential diagnosis.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Understanding of audit, evaluation, and Clinical Governance.
