In this role, you will be delivering quality specialist solutions by investigating problems affecting a variety of buildings. Additionally, it is key you are able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

This person will be required to drive to client sites throughout the UK (and potentially abroad), and so a full driving licence, valid in the UK is necessary. This may be supported with the benefits of pool cars or a car allowance, dependent upon the individual and site where you are employed. Overnight stays are required on occasion.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carrying out building investigations and analysis utilising a range of techniques and equipment. This is a physically active role and will include working at heights, utilising ladders and potentially scaffolding and inspecting in small, confined spaces.
  2. Preparing evidence-based reports with the necessary background research and remedial recommendations, illustrated with photographs, sketch details and annotating CAD plans.
  3. Providing high-quality, professional and timely advice to clients relating to building defects, material condition and building performance.
  4. Attending meetings with clients, their design teams and consultants.
  5. Following established company procedures and protocols and assisting in the development of new systems to ensure that the company's quality standards are maintained and enhanced.
  6. Undertaking personal training and development, as discussed with the Management team.
  7. Ensuring confidentiality at all times in all matters relating to any work or communication with the company and clients.

Requirements:
  1. Have UK construction experience and proven knowledge of design and procurement.
  2. Will have a keen interest in building science and environment science.
  3. Have a professional, organised and thorough approach to work which demonstrates an attention to detail.
  4. Have the ability to take initiative in identifying and undertaking work that needs to be carried out.
  5. Possess an inquisitive approach to learning and work.
  6. Have experience of hands on, practical-learning.
  7. Be comfortable working within a team or independently.
  8. High standards of written and spoken English.
  9. Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferable Qualities:
  1. Have a Bachelors or Master's Degree in a field relevant to the construction industry and built environment.
  2. Have achieved or be working towards Chartered Membership of the RIBA, RICS or other professional institutions.
  3. Knowledge of site operations and management processes.
  4. Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft 365.
