Job summary:

Join our Major Projects team and help deliver some of London’s most high-profile developments. This role focuses on managing key risks and preventing warranty claims through expert application of NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and national/European codes.

What you’ll be doing

You will bring specialist knowledge of building performance and failure modes to complex, high-risk projects—ensuring compliance, quality, and long-term durability. Work alongside NHBC Surveyors to shape the future of the capital’s-built environment. Deliver efficient and effective service on Warranty and Building Control jobs in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet NHBC, customer, and statutory requirements.

  • Oversee the technical risk management of highly complex new build and conversion projects in accordance with the Warranty Risk Policy.
  • Conduct site inspections of building work as part of the technical risk management strategy for high-risk projects and provide support to inspectors, surveyors, and engineers in the project team.
  • Review and check reports and submissions prepared by others.
  • Assess the holistic technical risk and identify potential failure points based on design, data analysis, and extensive specialist knowledge of building failures. Develop and implement bespoke, dynamic project-based risk management plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Check and manage the checking of design details to ensure compliance with NHBC Standards, codes, European standards, and Building Regulations.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent understanding of why and how buildings fail and result in claims.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, or Engineering.
  • Successful customer relationship management experience.
  • On-site experience with advanced knowledge of the housing sector.
  • Understanding of building pathology and defect identification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Chartered membership of a professional institution.
  • Relevant accredited HND/HNC qualification or substantial industry experience.

What we offer

Our benefits include:

  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced pension scheme (up to 10.5%)
  • Life assurance
  • Subsidised private medical insurance
  • Employee discounts platform
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave and pay
