About the Role

UBDS are seeking a highly skilled Network / Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience to join our Secure Connectivity capability group, to provide specialist / dedicated support to UBDS clients’ infrastructure, technology roadmaps and programmes / projects.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the design and implementation of network solutions across a variety of client sectors.
• You will be a problem-solver, passionate about networking & technology
• Our customer-facing role will expose you to a diverse group of teams, providing endless opportunities for career growth in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
• You will develop yourself as an SME for other members of the team whose speciality is not networking.
• Effectively communicate with customers regarding technical issues and customer service inquiries, both orally and in writing.
• Collaborate with other team members to work together on outages, misconfigurations, and complex issues that may arise within customer networks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other various network-related issues
• Work with colleagues and our client's teams to diagnose and resolve critical, escalated issues.

Requirements

About You

• Previous & Proven hands on experience Cisco products and other major networking tools & products
• A good understanding of networking protocols & transport protocols including TCP, STP, OSPF, BGP, etc.
• Experience setting up or testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs and NAT, amongst other services.
• Outstanding English language, written and verbal communication skills and comprehension.
• Excellent client facing skills and an ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation
• Experience in computer networking related problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Networking certifications: CCNA or equivalent.
• You must be eligible for SC Clearance
• Previous experience with Cisco products, Aruba products with some firewalls experience; and Azure networking will be beneficial.
