The Engineering College of Technology (ECT) is expanding its team with a new Compliance and Risk Officer position. ECT, recently established and registered in the UK, is a sister company of the Australian-based Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT).

EIT has over 30 years of experience in engineering education and training, offering more than 85 industry-driven accredited qualifications and professional development courses to students in over 160 countries through on-campus and online platforms.

About the Role

This role is open to applicants across the UK, with the expectation to travel periodically to the Stevenage office (approximately once a month or as needed).

The Compliance and Risk Officer will be responsible for identifying and mitigating compliance risks, ensuring adherence to UK regulations such as GDPR and OfS requirements, and internal policies. The role involves ensuring organizational compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of higher education compliance, ensuring adherence to UK regulatory frameworks, including OfS and other relevant bodies.
• Conduct risk assessments and report findings to the Senior Management Team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across ECT to identify and address compliance issues.
• Implement and monitor compliance initiatives, including regular audits and quality reviews.
• Create and revise policies and procedures as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for compliance queries.
• Produce and present reports to governing bodies and support governance activities.
• Develop and deliver compliance training for staff and faculty.
• Provide guidance to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance standards throughout the organization.
• Participate in institutional reviews and accreditation processes as required.
