Job description

Orms is seeking a Communications Coordinator

Orms is a dynamic architecture business that is passionate about communicating its vision, projects, and ideas. You will be integral to making this communication happen, by creating content and curating events.

About Orms

At Orms, we believe architecture must be ultra-practical—deeply functional and forever generous.

As an award-winning architecture practice of over 100 people, we are committed to creating thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that make a positive impact. Since becoming an Employee Ownership Trust in 2018, we have embraced a more diverse collection of voices to shape our direction, ensuring that collaboration remains at the heart of what we do. Our BCORP certification reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact and driving meaningful change within the built environment.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented communicator with strong organisational skills to join us as Communications Coordinator. This role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to learn and evolve within a supportive environment. You'll focus on curating content from across the team, alongside creating your own, to strengthen Orms' communications across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Curation
• Curate and refine content from across the team, ensuring it reflects Orms' projects, values, and thought leadership.
• Draft, edit, and publish project stories, press releases, blog posts, and newsletters.
• Create and manage high-quality visual content (e.g., photography, graphics, videos).
• Maintain and update the Orms website to ensure fresh, relevant content.
• Manage a content calendar for consistent communication.

Social Media & Digital Engagement
• Plan, create, and schedule content for social media including photo and video creation (primarily Instagram and LinkedIn but open to TikTok).
• Monitor engagement, respond to comments, and help us participate in industry conversations.
• Analyse performance metrics and provide insights for strategy improvements.

Press & Awards
• Coordinate award submissions and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare award entries in collaboration with internal teams and external specialists.
• Support media outreach and assist in drafting press releases.
• Coordinate attendance at awards events, managing logistics and invitations.

Events & Thought Leadership
• Assist with planning and promoting Orms’ participation in industry events, lectures, and exhibitions.
• Collaborate on presentations and materials for speaking engagements.

Skills & Experience

• A passion for architecture, design, and storytelling.
• Strong writing and editorial skills to craft compelling content for various audiences.
• Experience with managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
• Proficiency in website management (CMS) and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop).
• Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in liaising with clients, team members, and industry professionals, including coordinating activity with our external PR agency.

Personal Qualities

• Confident communicator with a natural storytelling ability.
• Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn and develop.
• A proactive, collaborative team player who takes initiative.
• Capable of prioritising tasks while maintaining high standards.

Partner confidently with senior leadership, providing strategic counsel on communications initiatives including panels, speaking engagements, and high-visibility opportunities

Working Hours & Flexibility

Core working hours are 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, but we are open to flexible hours and the potential for a part-time role upon request. If you require specific arrangements, we are happy to discuss options that work for you.

Why Join Us?

At Orms, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a creative, supportive environment. As a BCORP-certified, employee-owned practice, we are committed to your growth and the positive impact we make within the built environment.

We offer:
A dynamic, inclusive workplace
Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship
Profit share, enhanced family leave, and social activities

Location: 160 Old Street, London, UK
Salary: £33,000+ (dependent on experience)
