Job description

Summary

We are currently seeking a Design Technology and Art Technician to provide technical support for teachers at Harris Lowe Academy Willesden.

Main Responsibilities

As a DT and Art Technician, your duties may include:

1. Assisting and advising teaching staff on classroom preparation for practical exercises, conducting trials, demonstrations, and supporting students with learning activities.
2. Preparing equipment and materials for lessons according to teachers' specifications, including creating or modifying equipment as needed based on instructions.
3. Advising students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment, and guiding staff on health and safety issues related to practical work.
4. Supporting students in preparing materials for 3D and 2D projects, such as stretching canvases and preparing screens for printing.
5. Assisting in practical lessons and after-hours activities as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from candidates who have:

• Qualifications equivalent to A Level or above
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Experience working with a variety of Art and/or Design Technology equipment and resources
• Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in an educational setting, performing practical tasks
