Summary

We are currently seeking a Design Technology and Art Technician to provide technical support for teachers at Harris Lowe Academy Willesden.

Main Responsibilities

As a DT and Art Technician, your responsibilities will include:

1. Assisting and advising teaching staff on classroom preparation for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations, and helping students with learning activities as appropriate.
2. Preparing equipment and materials for lessons according to teacher requisitions, including making or modifying equipment based on instructions.
3. Advising students and staff on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment, and on health and safety procedures during practical work.
4. Supporting students in preparing materials for 3D and 2D projects, such as stretching canvases or preparing screens for printing.
5. Assisting in practical lessons and after-hours activities when requested.

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Experience working with Art and/or Design Technology equipment and resources
• Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in an educational setting undertaking practical tasks
