Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Retail Sales and Operations Manager to lead our team in Lincolnshire.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude and proactive approach. They will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and embody WFF’s ‘good fashioned service’ ethic, aiming to make a real difference in our customers' lives.

Wiltshire Farm Foods, part of the apetito group, is the UK’s largest ready-meal supplier, offering over 330 frozen meals across the UK, primarily to the elderly, their families, and healthcare professionals.

The Retail Sales and Operations Manager will own their territory, striving for outstanding results by leveraging national support and strengthening local relationships within the community. They will focus on four key responsibilities, depicted within the Wiltshire Farm Foods triangle of success:

Happy Teams - Good Old-Fashioned Service
  • Lead by example, support, and enable your team to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Develop team knowledge and passion for our food
  • Foster a respectful, supportive environment where staff can excel
  • Prioritize health and safety above all else
Costs of Local Distribution (COLD)
  • Achieve targets for local distribution costs by managing labour, vehicle, depot, and marketing expenses
  • Review performance monthly with the Regional Manager
  • Ensure action plans are executed to stay on target
Growing Sales
  • Manage customer relationships locally, supported by national data and campaigns
  • Implement local initiatives like sheltered housing and CSA training to meet sales targets
Community Engagement
  • Engage with community organizations, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to promote growth

Essential Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Track record of achieving sales and profit targets with high service standards
  • Leadership experience, fostering engagement and development within teams
  • Data interpretation skills to drive success

Desirable Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in retail, care, hospitality, or owning a business
  • Knowledge of health & safety compliance
  • Experience in employee consultation and change management

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English

You must hold a UK manual driving license for at least 2 years. All offers are subject to driving assessments, license checks, and DBS checks.
