Job overview

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has two vacancies for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Surgery at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site: one for an April start and one for an October start. These posts support both emergency and elective services and are modular, with rotations in Emergency Surgery, Elective Surgery / Endoscopy, and the Surgical Critical Care Unit.

The elective components are flexible and can be tailored to support candidates' interests within general surgery, breast, or urology, including dedicated training lists.

Main duties of the job

1. Perform clinical duties on the wards, including requesting and monitoring diagnostics.
2. Manage an allocated academic project with a supervisor throughout the post.
3. Provide out-of-hours cover.

• Minimum of 1 year working in NHS general surgery.
• GMC registration with a license to practice.

Desirable criteria

• MRCS or Part 1.
• NHS experience.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of general surgery at F1/F2 level.

• Completion of core surgical training.
• Experience with publications and presentations.
