Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medicine Care Group at The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the role of Senior Operations Manager for Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Endoscopy & Bowel Cancer Screening (Northern and Eastern services).
This role will be challenging but varied, working closely with busy and dynamic services, alongside Medical Leads, the Clinical Matron, and wider MDT. This is a month fixed-term position commencing July 5.

The Senior Operations Manager is intended to provide leadership to ensure high standards of service management and consistent, optimal performance across a defined range of services within the wider Care Group. This includes operational performance, finance, workforce, safety and quality, service development, and transformation.
The post holder will provide strong operational leadership within their area of responsibility to ensure transformative, effective, and efficient delivery of cross-site services.
The Senior Operations Manager will have input into the development and implementation of the Care Group plan to maintain patient care at the highest levels of safety and effectiveness; ensure efficient and equitable use of resources; promote a culture that is progressive and inclusive; and meet the objectives within the Trust's priorities and operational plan.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery and reporting of patient access targets; a range of key performance indicators covering urgent and emergency care, elective care including referral to treatment times, cancer & diagnostic waiting times; financial performance; and delivering value within the services managed.
The post holder may be required to deputise for the Care Group General Manager/Head of Service, representing services within their domain at internal and external meetings.
The post holder will participate in the designated on-call rota (depending on experience and following training), taking overall responsibility for the site out of hours, including during major incidents.
