Job description

Procurement Professional

Location: Glascoed (1-2 days per week on site)

Rate: £32.18 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Duration: 6-month initial contract

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Glascoed. The role offers hybrid working with 1-2 days per week on site.

Responsibilities

• Support current contracts, assist with new bids for existing products, and handle general supply chain requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, contracting terms, and conditions.
• Manage supplier performance and relationships to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability, and in-service performance.
• Resolve operational issues promptly.
• Oversee the day-to-day performance of assigned categories and suppliers concerning Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Optimize supply chain execution by balancing inventory, supply orders, and demand scheduling.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SAP.
• Experience with SAP processes, understanding their impact if not followed.
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.

• Proficiency in engaging and influencing internal stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating courtesy, diplomacy, and tact, aligned with the company's code of conduct.
