I'm working with a global, high-growth engineering software company seeking an Academic Sales Lead to lead and grow their UK academic sales function.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Cambridge with flexible working and excellent progression potential.

The company develops cutting-edge simulation software used by scientists and engineers worldwide to solve real-world physical problems. You'll be leading a talented team (3 people) responsible for driving software adoption across universities, academic institutions, and research labs in the UK & Ireland, while also managing your own strategic accounts.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical B2B sales environment, has strong leadership skills (or ready to take this as their next step), and is excited about supporting researchers across diverse engineering and scientific fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the academic sales team
  • Manage your own academic sales region
  • Drive license revenue from new and existing customers
  • Build campaigns to expand software usage in academia
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, marketing, and licensing teams
  • Deliver accurate forecasts and performance reporting
  • Recruit, coach, and support sales talent
