Technical Support Engineer (Raw Water)

Location: North & North West Yorkshire Region and Hybrid Working. Average of 4 site visits per week to reservoirs and catchment areas across the region.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. You will be required to take part in a Standby Rota

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join the Product & Process team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

As a Technical Support Engineer you will play a vital role in ensuring our Product and Process Team meets and exceeds targets and critical business performance measures. Help us achieve world-class asset and operational excellence across all area assets!

Where you fit in:

As our Technical Support Engineer you will:

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, conduct safety audits, and submit H&S capital requests.
  • Plan, organize, and manage operational activities on sites for both reactive and proactive workloads.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Process Engineers, Resource Engineers, and others.
  • Act as a liaison between operations and key internal departments.
  • Assist with regulatory and external audits, ensuring compliance at all sites.
  • Verify and investigate asset performance shortfalls using RCA approach.
  • Support capital scheme delivery and manage small capital and revenue schemes.
  • Drive performance to achieve Balanced Scorecard and financial goals.
  • Manage incidents and environmental risks across the Production area.
  • Collaborate with the central team to ensure optimal asset maintenance.
  • Support RCA investigations and action plan management.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Experience in technical support and operational management.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety policies and risk assessment procedures.
  • Knowledge of asset management, capital scheme delivery, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to resolve high-priority and complex problems, utilizing external resources if needed.
  • Proactive approach to environmental risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with EDMS, KAM, A12, AIB Schematics, SAP Production, IBM (Lotus Notes), Safeguard, Actrack, SCADA and RTS.
  • Water Production Drive Knowledge (Reservoir safety database, ROD2, RCA, Shared Reports, PRAs).
  • Familiarity with Rota and Appointments sheet.
