Start Date: September 2025
Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Agency: Teaching Personnel
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a ‘Good’ rated secondary school in the Wirral to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding setting where you will play a key role in student learning and development.

The Role:

As a HLTA, you will support the teaching and learning across a range of subjects and age groups. You will deliver planned lessons, lead small group interventions, and assist in the classroom under the guidance of the school’s teaching staff and SENCo.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering lessons during teacher absence
  • Providing targeted academic and pastoral support for students
  • Leading small group sessions and supporting individual learners
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to enhance student outcomes

Essential Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or recognised equivalent (e.g. Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants)
  • Previous experience working in a UK secondary school setting
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
