Job Title: Risk Manager

Location: Solihull; a flexible hybrid working model which supports you as well as enabling you to work collaboratively with your colleagues

Hours: Full time, Permanent.

The Role:

As Risk Manager, you’ll own the day-to-day management of credit risk strategies and controls for Consumer Finance, ensuring lending aligns with business standards and fair customer outcomes. You will review and enhance credit risk controls and strategies, monitor performance against key risk indicators, and manage analysis to support business requirements for acquisition and customer management credit risk. This includes setting and reviewing score cut-offs, risk-based pricing, new loan strategies, lifetime loss and predicted bad rate modelling, and affordability assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage asset quality and credit risk strategies across Consumer Finance portfolios, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and presenting insights to senior management.
• Maintain credit risk policies and documentation within account opening and management systems, supporting operational teams while protecting customer outcomes.
• Lead initiatives to identify safe growth opportunities without compromising credit quality, providing strategic insights and policy updates to stakeholders.
• Produce and manage regular and ad-hoc reports for governance forums, highlighting trends, performance, and recommended actions.
• Manage daily relationships with Credit Reference Agencies.
• Share knowledge of credit risk management across teams, contribute to cross-functional projects, and deputise for the Head of Risk when needed.

• Proven experience in a senior Risk Analysis role within unsecured lending.
• Understanding of the consumer risk lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Initiative and ownership of work.
• Experience with SAS, Excel, and SQL.
• Stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of credit bureau data.
