Job description

Job Title: HR Advisor (6-Month Temporary ER Advisor)

The HR Advisor could be based at any of our sites, including Brighton (main), Haywards Heath, and Worthing. The role requires travel to all locations. This is a 6-month temporary ER Advisor position focusing on absence management cases, with a hybrid working pattern of 2 or 3 days on-site. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a caseload in an advisory capacity, ensuring cases are handled appropriately and promptly.
2. Prioritize work and follow-up tasks daily, collaborating with the Manager and key stakeholders to manage changing priorities.
3. Schedule cases to ensure progression within agreed timescales.
4. Support and advise managers dealing with complex sickness/absence cases, providing regular sickness absence reports to aid in reducing sickness rates year on year.
5. Review and analyze workforce data, producing monthly reports on key workforce KPIs related to sickness.
6. Provide risk-based advice on redeployment, ill health, retirement, or termination in accordance with employment legislation and organizational policies.
7. Design and deliver training to managers on people management topics, HR policies, and procedures.
8. Lead the drafting, formulation, and implementation of new policies and procedures, updating existing ones based on feedback and legislative changes.

Requirements:

Applicants must have strong experience in high-volume ER, particularly in absence management (handling 15+ cases), and solid Employment Law knowledge.
