Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a reliable Supply Teacher for a welcoming school in Sheffield. You will deliver well-structured lessons across the timetable and adapt your approach to different classes and age groups.

You will maintain high expectations, manage behaviour effectively and support pupils' progress while building positive relationships with staff and pupils. An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service is preferred or eligibility to apply.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching within a school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils.
• Excellent communication, organisation and adaptability.
• A commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and supporting pupil progress.
• An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across the assigned timetable.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs and abilities of different pupils.
• Manage classroom behaviour consistently and in line with school policies.
• Assess pupils' understanding and provide appropriate feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Follow lesson plans and school expectations while using your professional judgement where appropriate.
• Support pupils' progress and encourage active participation in learning.
• Work professionally with teaching staff and contribute to the wider school environment where appropriate.
