Job summary

Affinity Partnerships is recruiting a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs, focusing on SEMH, with elements of Autism and challenging behaviour. You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to tailor approaches to each child’s needs.

The role involves 1:1 support under an individual education plan, helping learners achieve academic, social and emotional goals. Training in safeguarding is provided, and you will join an inclusive, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Experience with SEMH and autism-related cases.
• Ability to tailor approaches to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Guide learning alongside the classroom teacher and SENCO.
• Provide 1:1 support under an individual education plan (IEP).
• Support academic, social and emotional goals for learners.
