Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a committed and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist SEND School in Birmingham. You will work with pupils with additional needs, providing classroom, small-group and 1-2-1 support to help them access learning and develop confidence.

The role offers a rewarding SEND experience with experienced teachers and SEND professionals, opportunities to make a genuine difference, and ongoing support from The Education Network.

Qualifications

Experience working with pupils with SEND is highly desirable, particularly within a special school or specialist provision.
Strong mainstream Teaching Assistants with genuine interest in SEND are also welcomed.

Responsibilities

Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across the school day
Work 1-2-1 and with small groups where required
Support pupils to access learning and classroom activities
Help develop communication, confidence and independence
Support pupils with their individual learning and development targets
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Work closely with teachers and specialist SEND staff
Adapt your approach to meet individual needs
Contribute to a safe, calm and positive learning environment
