Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for daily supply roles in Newmarket and surrounding areas. You will support pupils with a range of SEND and provide 1:1 and small group assistance to help access the curriculum.

The role offers flexible daily assignments across primary and secondary settings, focusing on inclusion, behaviour support, and close collaboration with teachers and SENCOs. DBS checks and EHCP experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in schools or care settings.
• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for diverse needs.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs.
