Job summary

Step Teachers are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for daily supply across Ely and surrounding areas. You will support pupils with a range of SEND across KS3/KS4, work with teachers and SENCOs, and provide 1:1 or small group support to help access the curriculum. A safeguarding-focused mindset and willingness to travel between schools are essential.

Experience in SEND settings, reliability, and a Level 2/3 TA qualification are desirable. Salary is paid weekly via PAYE and varies by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school or care setting.
• Confident working across secondary age groups.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable to changing needs as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
• Able to follow safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently.
• Willing to commit to daily supply work across multiple schools.
• Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs across KS3 and KS4
• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
• Assist with personal care and mobility where required
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
