Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Winchester area. The role involves assisting with classroom learning, 1:1 support, and small-group interventions to boost engagement, confidence, and progress.

Ideal candidates have experience with young people, strong communication, and a patient, approachable manner. Graduates seeking classroom exposure are welcomed, with safeguarding training available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people desirable
• SEN experience beneficial but not essential
• Safeguarding training can be provided

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4
• Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group interventions
• Help students remain engaged, focused, and motivated during lessons
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and learning resources
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Build strong relationships with students and staff
• Encourage student confidence, participation, and progress
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
