Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant in Winchester to support pupils across the area. The role involves 1:1 support or small-group interventions, helping pupils stay engaged and participate in lessons.

This full-time, term-time position offers a salary of £14.25–£15.66 per hour with safeguarding training provided. Start date is ASAP, providing ongoing opportunities across local schools.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable.
• Patient, supportive and approachable manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Adaptable and responsive to varying needs.
• Reliable and able to work well in a team.
• Backgrounds in childcare, coaching, youth work, or education welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group activities.
• Help pupils stay engaged, focused and motivated during lessons.
• Assist with classroom activities, resources and lesson preparation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and learning routines.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support pupils' confidence, participation and progress.
