Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate PE Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The role is a temporary placement from ASAP until 18 December 2026, with a daily rate in line with the Main Pay Scale.

You will deliver a range of PE lessons, promote physical activity, and support students to develop confidence, teamwork and sporting knowledge. QTS or equivalent is required; PGCE/QTS beneficial for early career teachers.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate strong PE subject knowledge across activities.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Teach a range of sports; develop fitness and sporting knowledge.
• Differentiate to meet all students' needs and track progress.
• Assess and provide constructive feedback to support development.
• Promote teamwork, resilience and respectful behaviour in sport.
• Maintain high behavioural standards and student engagement.
• Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.
