Tradewind Education is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Rotherham on a short-term basis. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity and practical science skills within a supportive environment.

The role welcomes both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECT) looking for a temporary placement. You will collaborate with colleagues, maintain high standards, and contribute to student progress while

Competenze

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Science or a relevant subject specialism, such as biology, chemistry or physics.
• Experience teaching science within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across the relevant key stages.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to adapt quickly to a new school environment.
• A genuine passion for science education and a commitment to student progress and achievement.
• An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Mansioni

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach science across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering biology, chemistry and physics as required.
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials and ensure learning objectives are clearly communicated.
• Support students in developing their scientific knowledge, practical skills and confidence.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate any concerns to the appropriate staff.
