Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a Mobile Building Facilities Assistant (18/837) in the Dumfries area to join our friendly team. This fixed-term role covers cleaning, janitorial tasks, and building safety checks in schools, supporting a responsive facilities service.

You will work 30 hours per week over 5 days, travel within the catchment area, and contribute to a clean, safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Reliable, motivated individual with good attention to detail.
• Approachable, professional, and customer focused.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• A current driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general cleaning and janitorial tasks to a high standard.
• Supporting daily building safety checks and health & safety procedures.
• Assisting the Lead Occupier with safe operation of the premises.
• Supporting energy efficiency and responsible building usage.
• Liaising professionally with all staff and service users.
