Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to provide flexible clinical support across Walton-on-Thames’ primary care services. You’ll perform routine observations, assist in treatment rooms, and contribute to smooth clinic flow while maintaining patient safety and quality care.

Ideal candidates have prior HCA experience in NHS or community settings, DBS clearance, and strong communication skills to engage patients and teams across different practices.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Enhanced DBS check may be required.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Adaptability across different primary care environments.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature.
• Supporting treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conducting ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained.
• Providing lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed.
