Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants in Bourne End to provide flexible clinical support across local GP practices. You will handle routine observations, assist in treatment rooms, and help clinics run smoothly with clear workflows.

Ideal candidates have HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings, strong patient communication, and a current enhanced DBS. Shifts are fully flexible, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable.
• Able to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Strong communication and patient interaction abilities.
• Flexible/adaptive to different primary care environments.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature.
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties where needed.
