Job summary

HMGCC in Milton Keynes is recruiting an Operations Support Technician. The role is based in the office and offers full-time 37 hours per week (part-time options available with a 30-hour minimum).

You will support engineers and technical teams by preparing equipment, managing assets and ensuring safe, efficient working environments. This hands-on position requires practical problem-solving, ownership and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities or estates support.
• Experience in technology, engineering or technical support.
• Experience in manufacturing or production support.
• Experience in operations support.
• Experience in technical event coordination.
• Experience in workshop or laboratory environments.
• Experience in asset, equipment or inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Supporting engineers with equipment assembly, kit builds and testing activities.
• Preparing equipment and materials for use.
• Maintaining equipment inventories and asset records.
• Procuring parts, components and technical equipment.
• Tracking vehicle information, including servicing and MOT schedules.
• Supporting laboratory and departmental safety activities, including COSHH management.
• Managing battery storage and disposal processes.
• Setting up IT equipment and workspaces for new starters.
• Supporting engineers with field testing and operational activities.
• Helping ensure departments remain safe, organised and operationally effective.
