Supply Desk Ltd. is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor for a temporary contract in Hedge End. The role involves delivering planned lessons, supervising Year 3-6 classes, and supporting Year 6 students with SAT preparation in Reading and Spelling.

The school is rated Good and offers training, safeguarding compliance and a supportive team. DBS check will be completed as part of safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cover supervisor or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
• Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting young people.
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
• Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).

Responsabilités

• Provide teacher cover for a whole class Year 3-6.
• Manage behaviour and progress learning.
• Be confident giving whole class inputs.
• Support Year 6 students in small groups.
• Hold a good understanding of reading and spelling strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement personalised learning plans.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment for all learners.
