Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Fareham is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support Key Stage 2 classrooms and lead learning sessions. The role starts ASAP and runs full-time until Easter 2027, with duties across Years 3 to 6 and a focus on developing pupils' confidence and independence.

The successful candidate will deliver targeted interventions, work closely with teaching staff, and promote high educational outcomes while contributing to safeguarding and school life.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a primary school setting, ideally KS2.
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support and lead learning effectively.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting children's learning.
• Passion for helping young learners achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes.
• Lead whole-class learning sessions in the teacher's absence.
• Deliver targeted interventions in English and Mathematics.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Help prepare pupils for statutory assessments and transition to secondary school.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
