Job summary

Haverfordwest High VC School is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide planned and emergency cover in the absence of teaching staff. The role focuses on maintaining high standards and supporting learning in a busy classroom environment.

We are committed to excellence, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners, and the HLTA will help plan learning activities, supervise work, manage behaviour, and feed back pupil progress to the class teacher.

Qualifications

• A good standard of education and relevant qualifications.
• Understanding of the needs, rights, and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Experience of working with children and young people in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to motivate, support, and inspire learners to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned and emergency cover in the absence of teaching staff.
• Plan and prepare learning materials where appropriate.
• Supervise and manage pupils during lessons or activities.
• Feedback pupil progress to the class teacher after the lesson.
