Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher in Walsall to deliver engaging lessons across the secondary age range, combining practical cooking with theory to inspire nutrition, food preparation and healthy living.

You will plan, deliver and assess lessons, supervise practical activities, maintain safe kitchen facilities and work with colleagues to support student outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching Food Technology or related subject.
• Strong practical knowledge of cooking and nutrition.
• Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons up to KS5.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and supervise practical activities.
• Teach nutrition, food preparation, hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Prepare students for coursework and examinations where appropriate.
• Assess progress and adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
• Maintain safe, clean and organised kitchen facilities.
• Encourage creativity, independence and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the department.
