Marchant Recruitment is assisting a welcoming secondary school in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, to recruit a Teacher of Food Technology & Catering for a full-time, permanent position commencing in January. The role focuses on practical cooking, nutrition, and food safety within KS3/KS4 curricula.

You will lead cooking sessions, oversee practical exams, and support student wellbeing as a Form Tutor within a busy Technology department.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or UK credentials (PGCE/SCITT).
• Honors degree in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Hospitality or Home Economics.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 certification.
• Proven ability to manage full-class practical cooking sessions safely and efficiently.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsabilités

• Teach practical cooking and nutrition to KS3/KS4.
• Enforce hygiene and HACCP across food rooms.
• Guide GCSE and vocational pupils through exams and NEA.
• Manage kitchen inventories and catering equipment.
• Assess, track and report student progress across practical skills and exams.
• Fulfill Form Tutor pastoral duties.
