Job summary

Brighton College Prep School invites applications for a Cover Teacher on a zero-hours basis. The successful candidate will teach a class in the absence of their regular teacher and deliver high-quality lessons across Nursery to Year 6, alongside pastoral duties to support pupils.

Qualifications

• Ideal experience in EYFS and KS1.
• Ability to teach across Nursery to Year 6.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pastoral care.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Plan short- and medium-term lessons per school policy.
• Collaborate with parallel teachers for planning and progression.
• Differentiate activities to cater for varied abilities.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and report in line with school policy.
• Mark work promptly and provide individual feedback.
• Lead a short PE lesson in case of absence of a specialist PE teacher.
• Support pastoral care and foster positive pupil relationships.
• Manage behaviour in accordance with the school policy.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in school events.
