Job summary

Hounsdown School is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to maintain learning continuity during teacher absence across all curriculum areas. The role offers variety and the chance to work closely with students and staff throughout the school.

The position is up to 32.5 hours per week (8:15am-3:15pm, Monday to Friday) during term time (39 weeks per year). Part-time applications will be considered and a firm but fair approach to discipline is essential.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide essential continuity of learning during teacher absence. This is a diverse and varied role across all curriculum areas with strong connections built throughout all departments.

Required to work up to 32.5 hours per week (8.15am-3.15pm Monday - Friday) or part time will be considered, term time only (39 weeks per year).

A firm but non-confrontational approach towards discipline is essential, as are excellent communication skills. Experience of working with young people is desirable, although full training will be provided. Applicants need to have a good general education and be educated to GCSE level C or equivalent in Maths and English. Graduates looking for future teaching careers will be considered.
