Job summary

Teaching Tomorrow is seeking a capable cover supervisor to oversee whole classes during short-term teacher absences in primary settings, ensuring pupils stay on task and engaged with pre-set work.

This position does not involve lesson planning but requires strong classroom management and safeguarding awareness across the 4–11 age range. Applicants will undergo pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS; roles may be paid via Umbrella or PAYE.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions confidently.
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils follow the work set.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour per the school's policy.
• Provide support by answering questions and encouraging engagement.
• Complete registers accurately and report absences or concerns.
• Work flexibly across year groups and subjects as required.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and support school duties.
