Job summary

E-ACT Shenley Academy in Birmingham is seeking a confident, organised Cover Supervisor to support pupils and maintain a calm, productive learning environment. You will supervise classes in line with the Academy’s policies, building positive relationships with students and staff.

The role requires flexibility, resilience and excellent communication. GCSEs including English and Maths are expected, with experience working with young people desirable.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level with English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
• Desirable experience working with children or young people.
• Strong classroom management and ability to supervise whole classes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils undertaking work set in accordance with the Academy’s policy under guidance of teaching/senior staff.
• Establishing productive relationships with students and promoting high expectations.
• Monitoring and evaluating student responses and providing feedback.
• Encouraging students to interact and work cooperatively with others.
• Using ICT to support learning activities and develop students’ competence.
