Job summary

GCS Associates in South Wales is recruiting a commercially driven Business Development Manager to develop civils and groundworks business. You will manage existing trade customers and generate new opportunities across the designated network, with a company car and bonus as part of the package.

The role links closely with branch teams to identify sales opportunities, re-engage dormant accounts and secure projects on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development, external sales or account management.
• Knowledge of civils and groundworks products and their applications.
• Experience dealing with contractors and trade customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an existing portfolio of trade customers to grow sales and spend.
• Generate new business through prospecting, customer visits and relationships with civils/groundworks contractors.
• Collaborate with branches to identify sales opportunities and support business development activities.
• Re-engage dormant and lapsed customers, converting opportunities into trading accounts.
• Visit customers and construction sites to understand project requirements and secure business.
• Prepare and follow up quotations, negotiating favourable terms while protecting profitability.
• Work with suppliers to develop sales opportunities and joint customer visits.
• Promote the wider product offering and identify opportunities for add-on sales.
