Additional Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, maintain and support IT infrastructure across a specialist technical environment. The role focuses on project delivery, automation and continuous improvement, with a salary of £78,000 and strong benefits.

DV clearance is essential. You will work on physical and virtual infrastructure, drive automation, monitor performance and document systems to ensure robust and scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in IT infrastructure support and systems administration.
• Background leading or owning IT project delivery.
• Strong networking knowledge (Cisco/Juniper/Dell/HP) and TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP understanding.
• Experience with VMware/Hyper-V virtualization.
• Scripting skills: Python, PowerShell, Bash; automation tooling like Ansible/AWX.
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments and backup technologies (NetBackup, Veeam).

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement physical and virtual IT infrastructure solutions.
• Deliver infrastructure projects in line with customer requirements and timescales.
• Maintain and support existing IT infrastructure and deployed systems.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure faults and technical issues.
• Monitor system performance and perform backups, patches and upgrades.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for supported infrastructure.
• Record incidents and actions taken to resolve issues.
• Create scripts and automation tools to streamline routine tasks.
