Job summary

Experis is seeking a DV Cleared 2nd Line System Administrator for a contract role in Basingstoke. You will monitor systems, manage incidents, and resolve 2nd-line tickets while maintaining stringent security and service levels.

You will work in a small engineering team on a government account, handling Windows infrastructure, VMware environments, and scripted tasks. DV clearance is required.

• Familiarity with event management tooling (SCOM / SolarWinds).
• Knowledge of VMware vCenter and Windows infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems using event management tooling and respond to incidents through the incident process.
• Triage, investigate and resolve 2nd-line tickets within SLAs, maintain ticket hygiene and documentation.
• Escalate appropriately via the service management team when issues need further support.
• Contribute to knowledge articles and SOPs, supporting continuous improvement and shift-left thinking.
• Apply logical troubleshooting in a changing, customer-facing environment.
• Support change/release and security processes to maintain operational integrity.
• Where needed, support Windows-focused infrastructure tasks across VMware-hosted environments.

Job Title: DV Cleared 2nd Line System Administrator
Location: Basingstoke (5 days customer site, weekly rotating shifts) Shift (0700 - 1500 and 1100 - 1900 on a Weekly Rotating Pattern
Duration: Until 31/05/2027 with possible extension
Rate: Up to £430 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go though the DV clearance process

What you'll be doing:

• Monitor systems using event management tooling and respond to incidents through the incident process
• Triage, investigate and resolve 2nd-line tickets within agreed SLAs, keeping ticket hygiene and documentation spot on
