Job summary

Cambridge House in London’s Mayfair is seeking a Duty Security Officer to help create a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff. You will patrol, monitor security systems and respond to incidents with discretion, working closely with Front of House and operations to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Ideal candidates bring experience in luxury hospitality security, a current Door Supervisor licence, and a calm, professional presence under pressure.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Security Officer or similar in luxury hotel, private members’ club, or high‑end hospitality.
• A valid Door Supervisor licence is essential.
• Strong understanding of hotel security operations, including CCTV and access control.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Security team at Cambridge House, protecting the building, guests and team members while contributing to a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Provide a reassuring presence across all areas of the House, ensuring guests and team members feel safe and at ease.
• Carry out regular patrols of guest areas and back‑of‑house spaces, attentive to detail and sensitive to the building's character.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances or emergencies, remaining composed at all times.
• Monitor CCTV, access points and security systems, identifying irregularities and addressing them with care.
• Support protection of guests, private events and high‑profile arrivals with discretion.
• Assist with access control and key management procedures, ensuring procedures are followed securely.
• Support fire life safety checks and emergency preparedness across the property.
• Report incidents clearly with timely and structured details.
• Collaborate with Front of House and operations to integrate security with daily hotel operations.
• Maintain awareness of activity around the House, remaining alert while respecting guest privacy.
• Assist in maintaining a secure environment for deliveries, contractors and visitors entering the property.
• Uphold health and safety procedures and company standards consistently.

As a Duty Security Officer, you will play an essential role in the day-to-day life of Cambridge House by creating an environment where guests, visitors and team members feel safe, cared for and entirely at ease. With calm, confidence and sound judgement, you will move seamlessly through the House, offering reassurance and vigilance that is discreet, respectful, and aligned with our values. A trusted presence behind the scenes, you will embody professionalism, composure and strength in both routine and unexpected situations. Working closely with the Front of House and broader operational teams, you will support a secure, seamless, and reassuring guest experience and team member environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the Security team at Cambridge House, supporting the protection of the building, its guests and team members while contributing to a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the property.
• Provide a reassuring presence across all areas of the House, ensuring guests and team members feel both safe and genuinely at ease in their surroundings.
• Carry out regular patrols of guest areas, back of house corridors and the historic spaces of Cambridge House, remaining attentive to detail and sensitive to the character of the building.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances or emergencies, remaining composed and measured at all times.
• Monitor CCTV, access points and security systems, ensuring any irregularities are identified and addressed with care and accuracy.
• Support the protection of all guests, private events and high-profile arrivals, maintaining discretion and a naturally unobtrusive approach.
• Assist with access control and key management procedures, ensuring systems are followed consistently and securely.
• Support fire life safety checks, routine safety inspections and emergency preparedness procedures across the property.
• Report incidents clearly and accurately, ensuring all relevant details are recorded in a timely and structured manner.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure security measures sit comfortably within the flow of daily hotel operations.
• Maintain awareness of all activity around the House, remaining alert to anything unusual while respecting the privacy and experience of guests.
• Assist in maintaining a secure environment for deliveries, contractors and external visitors entering the property.
• Uphold all health and safety procedures and company standards, contributing to a consistently safe and well-managed environment.

Qualifications
