Job summary

Whitbread’s Premier Inn in Plymouth City Centre (Lockyers Quay) is seeking a Duty Manager to lead shifts and ensure smooth hotel operations. You’ll work across reception, housekeeping and the restaurant, guiding teams and solving guest issues to maintain high service standards.

This permanent role offers guaranteed hours (32 per week) with evenings and weekends in a busy, guest-facing environment. Training and progression opportunities are provided to help you grow with Whitbread.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in busy customer-facing environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable making decisions on the floor and guiding front-line teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts across the hotel and deliver clear pre-shift briefings.
• Support and coach team members throughout the day.
• Help guests with questions and sort out problems.
• Jump in to support different teams, from reception to the restaurant.
• Spot issues early and put them right.
• Help keep guests safe and the hotel running smoothly.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager and wider leadership team.
