Job summary

Exeter Chiefs are looking for experienced Duty Managers to join the food and beverage team at Sandy Park, home of the club. The role involves managing the day-to-day operation of the Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting centre, leading the front-of-house team and delivering events to the highest standard.

Hours are 40 per week, five days a week including evenings and weekends; there is no split shift. A base salary of £30,000 with a 5% performance-related bonus is offered, with the opportunity to

Qualifications

• At least two years’ hospitality experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Able to lead and manage staff proactively and prioritise duties.
• Professional, confident, friendly and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting centre.
• Ensure events and matchday rooms are set up according to function sheets.
• Deliver conference and banqueting requirements to clients to the highest standards.
• Manage AV equipment for events and resolve issues quickly.
• Lead events supervisors, events assistants and casual bar and catering staff.
• Attend weekly planning meetings and encourage repeat business through excellent service.
• Comply with licensing law, data protection, fire, health and safety and COSHH requirements.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Food & Beverage and the Senior Operations Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of the Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting centre, lead the front-of-house team and make sure every event and matchday room is delivered to the highest standard. The role offers no split shifts and a good work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting centre
• Make sure events and matchday rooms are set up correctly to the function sheets
• Deliver all conference and banqueting requirements to clients to the highest standards
• Manage AV equipment for events and resolve any issues quickly
• Lead events supervisors, events assistants and casual bar and catering staff
• Attend weekly planning meetings and encourage repeat business through excellent service
• Comply with licensing law, data protection, fire, health and safety and COSHH requirements

About You

• At least two years’ hospitality experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role
• Able to lead and manage staff proactively and prioritise duties
• Professional, confident, friendly and reliable
• Your own form of transport
• Desirable: knowledge of AV equipment, good PC skills, public speaking experience and first aid training
